Our high quality Yixing teapots (pronounced ee-shing) are made from the special Zisha and Zhu Ni clays found only in the area near Lake Tai Hu in China. The pots have been made in the area by crafts people since at least the 14th century and were the first teapots to be brought to the UK. Current teapots are based on these original teapots.
The teapots are unglazed inside which allows the flavour of the tea to build up in the teapot. For this reason we recommend using only one type of tea in yuour teapot.
Yixing teapots are sought after by tea lovers, teapot collectors and by those looking for that special gift for a wedding, anniversary or birthday. Some of the pots are plain yet beautiful shapes whilst others have animal decorations or are in shape. Many of ,the shapes and carvings are lucky symbols, so ideal as a gift.
